ANALYSIS with KOJAK

Actually this is a very late article or you can say this is expired haha :D

This is about ANALYSIS (Anak Loyal Solid Olimpiade Sains) charity work. We collaborated with KOJAK (Komunitas Anak Jalanan/Street Children Community) this year. KOJAK is a community where the street children are gathered. KOJAK’s members teach them the lesson in school. So it’s like a non formal school for them. There were kindergarten, elementary, and high school. The class is on every Sundays afternoon. I want you to know that this kind of organization exists in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi.

I don’t know exactly since when the street children arose in Kendari. Kendari isn’t a big city like Jakarta, Makassar, or others. It's still developing. But the street children are almost in every edge of the city. I myself hate to see them in the stoplight. It was the reason why ANALYSIS chose KOJAK as our partner.

Sunday, July 13, 2014. We were looking forward for this day. This is THE DAY. We already packed 40 packages the day before. A package is for each child. They got school uniforms, stationeries, bags, books (novels and comics) and money. Some of them also got toys and clothes.

The agenda began at 2 pm, delayed an hour from the schedule. Because ANALYSIS was new in KOJAK, we introduced ourselves first. I couldn’t stand for those kids, they are so cute and adorable. Most of them are beggars. KOJAK always try to stop them, but their parents don’t. It’s miserable, isn’t it?

Kak Nia, from KOJAK, gave a speech about Palestine and asked the children to pray for Palestine. The chief of KOJAK gave speech to the parents. He explained about their children’s progress and improvement during study in KOJAK. He also gave a report card to each parent.

Afterwards, we gave them the packages. They were very excited and so were we.

At 4 pm, everything had finished, but problem always come. One of the parents couldn’t receive the result of the report card. He said his son always came on Sunday. But in fact he never came. He whatsoever didn’t trust us and blamed us. Yaahh… whatever… there are so many kids out there want to study in KOJAK.
